Kalei Renay, more known to the world of the Internet as Kalei, is one budding internet personality to look out for especially this 2021. Popular among fans and new viewers alike for her quirky personality which blends in with a signature style that is both brutally honest and comedic at the same time (a rare trait nowadays amongst online personalities), Kalei is on her way to a successful 2021 – especially after racking in eye-candy numbers on her multiple social media accounts in the past year. As her fanbase rapidly grows by the minute, avid viewers of her videos are left with swelling curiosity with regards to her life before fame. Here are some facts about Kalei that we know about so far.
Kalei is 21 as of writing this article, her birthday is on September 11th.
Born on September 11, 1999, Kalei Renay started to dabble with online gaming at an early age, a hobby that continued to develop throughout her high school years. It was also during this time that Renay discovered the concept of streaming and ‘online communities’ after being introduced to the popular streaming platform Twitch, by her friends. And at 15 years old, the ‘Kalei’ online personality was eventually born after being inspired by the online following of similarly popular Twitch personality SJ Valenz, also known to the Internet as Vindictive. However, it was only after graduating from high school that Renay seriously considered a full-time career in streaming content mainly focused on gaming.
Besides gaming and streaming, Kalei has a liking for musical instruments, namely the piano which she has been self-taught in for more than 8 years, and the electric guitar which the Twitch star has recently started learning. Fans of Kalei were treated to a whole new side of the budding online celebrity after she released her first ever Q&A segment on her YouTube channel. The 12-minute video highlighted a substantial amount of personal information about Kalei, such as her love for the anime series Tokyo Ghoul and a preference for Death Metal.
Another fun fact recently revealed by Kalei is that she would probably be continuing her studies in the pursuit of a veterinary technician degree as an alternative career choice to streaming due to her passion for animals. Kalei’s favorite games include Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, H1Z1, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Soaring to success in 2020, Kalei plans to further expand her reach in 2021 by concentrating her efforts on YouTube as well as her current following on Twitch which currently has around 271,000 followers. The 21-year-old American streamer is also setting a 30,000-subscriber goal for her YouTube channel by the end of the year which she aims to achieve by starting interactive projects such as a brand-new Minecraft server for her community which will go online starting this month.
Despite the presence of trolls in her streams every now and then, Kalei continues to maintain a positive outlook towards her career due to the overwhelmingly positive relationship she has with her community and her awareness of the major role she plays as a representative of the female streaming community. Things seem to be going up for Kalei so far and she is showing no signs of slowing down.
