Tesla plans to resume production in China despite the coronavirus outbreak

Tesla is looking to resume production in Shanghai on April 18, sources say. The move would come as the Chinese government looks to ease restrictions put in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Tesla has been hit hard by the virus, with production at its factory in China coming to a halt in February. The company has since been working to get production back up and running, but has faced challenges.

What safeguards is Tesla taking?

Tesla’s plans to resume production in China have been met with criticism, given the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. However, Tesla has stated that it is taking numerous precautions to protect its workers, including providing face masks and gloves, increasing cleaning and disinfection efforts, and temperature checks. Tesla has also said that it will be staggering shifts to minimize contact between workers. Given these measures, Tesla appears to be taking the outbreak seriously and doing what it can to protect its workers.
While Tesla has not yet provided an exact time for the resumption of production, the company said in a statement that it is working to bring production back online as soon as possible. Tesla also said it will be reviewing its safety protocols to ensure they are in line with international standards. In a recent interview with the Shanghai Daily, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said
